CentOS 5 (64) Gnome - not detecting Optical Mouse

Hi I am using CentOS 5 64bit, i can install successfully on the below hardware. while booting i can see the Pointer and use Mouse. But While i get a Login screen I couldn't see the pointer, after login also i can't. when i press CTRL button, it shows where the pointer is.. What should i do to enable and work with Mouse. AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ ASUS Nvidia Geforce Chipset board 1GB DDR 2 80 GB SATA 17" TFT Logitech Optical Mouse -- cheers, SivaPrakash.SK +91-98840-57147.

cannot find mcrypt rpm

Hi, I need this to install for a new ecommerce store I want to test out: mcrypt for extension=php_mcrypt.dll in php.ini Do you know where I can get this rpm? I cannot find it on the CentOS repository. I am using php 5.2.3-4 and mysql 4.1.20 on CentOS 4.3. Thank you! Dear All, Im sorry for posting this query here but was helpless.. as i am not able to subscribe to sendmail mailing list i have jus installed CentOS 5 and the following software sendmail 8.13 bind 9.3 this machine is used as a primary DNS and out mail server and is been workin perfect we jus have a new domain and i want to have virtual mail hosting on the smae machine for our new domain apprecite if you can help me with some steps or any links which can give me example of settin up virtual mail hosting with sendmail thnks and regards benedict -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

Ross: Thank you! I also read your reply to Israel in Cuba, which may be applicable for me. About 10 seconds after I started this thread, I remembered a long discussion about RAID, SATA, etc., 2 or 3 months ago. I think that Feizhou (?) strongly recommended going with Software RAID in CentOS. I will search for that and do a lot of reading. RAID 1 for mirroring is what I want. Lanny

CentOS4 and older megaraid

Release notes say no support for the RAID card in a box I just picked up...is there no hope for this box running 2.6 kernel? http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-4-Manual/release- notes/as-x86/ The kernel shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 includes the new megaraid_mbox driver from LSI Logic, which replaces the megaraid driver. The megaraid_mbox driver has an improved design, is compatible with the 2.6 kernel, and includes support for the latest hardware. However, megaraid_mbox does not support some of the older hardware that was supported by the megaraid driver. Adapters with the following PCI vendor ID and device ID pairs are not supported by the megaraid_mbox driver: vendor, device 0x101E, 0x9010 0x101E, 0x9060 0x8086, 0x1960 <--- my card ---< The lspci -n command can be used to display the IDs for adapters installed in a particular machine. Products with these IDs are known by (but not limited to) the following model names: * Dell PERC (dual-channel fast/wide SCSI) RAID controller * Dell PERC2/SC (single-channel Ultra SCSI) RAID controller * Dell PERC2/DC (dual-channel Ultra SCSI) RAID controller * Dell CERC (four-channel ATA/100) RAID controller * MegaRAID 428 * MegaRAID 466 * MegaRAID Express 500 * HP NetRAID 3Si and 1M Both Dell and LSI Logic have indicated that they no longer support these models in the 2.6 kernel. As a result, these adapters are not supported in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4. Craig
