Hi, i'm looking for a net cd writer software. I've found webcdwriter (http://joerghaeger.de/webCDwriter/) but it seems not more upgraded. Anyone know something else ? thx lewis

Increased memory usage between 4.8 and 5.5

I'm running into a memory problem when trying to switch some web servers that are running centos4.8/x86_64 to centos5.5/x86_64. The new servers running centos5.5 are using a decent amount more memory than the centos4.8 servers. I've also tested newer versions and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've looked into this quite a bit and below is what I've figured out so far. Looking at the output of running 'pmap -x <pid>' shows most of the libraries in 5.5 are using 2044K or 2048K of memory, but in 4.8 they're all using 1024K or less. Does anyone have any ideas on why 5.5 is using so much memory per httpd process than it does in 4.8? I have 100+ machines I want to upgrade, but that'll have to wait until I figure out why apache uses so much more memory in 5.5... Thanks in advance, Bryan

Who maintains php-pgsql package? I want to ask about using PostgreSQL 8.4 library instead of PostgreSQL 8.1.

How do I find out who is the maintainer of the php-pgsql package, please? I want to request upgrade from underlying postgresql-libs-8.1.21 (/usr/lib64/libpq.so.4) to postgresql84-libs-8.4.4 (/usr/lib64/libpq.so.5.2). Background on this request: Apache httpd's php's php-pgsql uses PostgreSQL 8.1 library (/usr/lib64/libpq.so.4), which leaks memory. PostgreSQL 8.4 library does not leak. Apache HTTP Server: httpd-2.2.3-43.el5.centos.3 mod_php: php-5.1.6-27.el5 PHP PostgreSQL interface is provided by: php-pgsql-5.1.6-27.el5, which uses postgresql-libs-8.1.21-1.el5_5.1 which provides /usr/lib64/libpq.so.4 which we've observed has a memory leak (and this memory leak is NOT present in libpq.so.5.2) I am trying to figure out how to get our httpd/mod_php/php-pgsql to use libpq.so.5.2 instead of libpq.so.4, and I thought I'd start by asking the php-pgsql maintainer, so this problem is fixed for everybody, not just for me. dhcpd rpm

Folks, We've been having occasional issues with failover dhcpd. I went looking for "peer holds all free leases", and happened to run across <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=610219>, which is rated important, and is supposed to be fixed in 3.0.5-24. Looking at the repo at kernel.org, all I see is what we have, dhclient-3.0.5-23.el5.x86_64.rpm. Any idea when this update will be released? mark "we won't mention 3.1 or 4.x"

Hi folks I have a CentOS box with 2 network cards. One is eth0 and the other is wlan0 (Linksys WUSB54GC USB wifi card) I use wlan0 to stay linked with other workstations in an small network and eth0 just in case I need to get wired to solve some problem. eth0 is always unpluged while things are going ok. Te problem is everytime my AP is turned off for whatever reason or the link is down, no matter the AP is working again, my wlan0 stays without link. Then I have to reboot to get wireless linked again. I'm not running Network Manager, For some reason, everytime I tried to start it, it just mess my network, trying to make wlan0 to get an IP from a DHCP server, no matter wlan0 have it's own IP address specified in ifcfg-wlan0. The Centos Box is unattended and everytime it happens I have to go to the other room and press the on/off button to restart it. (no display, keyboard or mouse in it) Any advices? How could I make NetworkManager to just link it again and not start messing with my network configuration? Cheers David

best practices in using shared storage for XEN Virtual Machines and auto-failover?

Hi all, Can anyone pleas tell me what would be best practice to use shared storage with virtual machines, especially when it involved high availability / automated failover between 2 XEN servers? i.e. if I setup 2x identical XEN servers, each with say 16GB RAM, 4x 1GB NIC's, etc. Then I need the xen domU's to auto failover between the 2 servers if either goes down (hardware failure / overload / kernel updates / etc). What is the best way to connect a NAS / SAN to these 2 servers for this kind of setup to work flawlessly? exim quota uses 32 bit integer: maximum mail store quota must be less than 2GB. Is there an repository with exim compiled with Size of off_t: 8 instead Size of off_t: 4 Comments in discussion groups say, the version compiled with "Size of off_t: 8" accepts lager quota. Helmut

Not receiving mail

I have installed Postfix, Dovecot, and Squirrelmail on a CentOS 5.5 machine. In Squirrelmail a user can send mail, but he is not receiving replies. There is nothing relevant in the maillog other than the user's (successful) login attempts. I am at loss, I have been following tutorials such as the Perfect Server [1] series and other Google results, but I cannot get this thing to receive mail. What should I be checking? Thanks!
