still no centos 6.4 live cd dvd available?

Hello, in the release announcement for centos 6.4 on march 9th, the 6.4-live cd/dvd was supposed to be released a few days after the centos 6.4 release. Meanwhile 6 weeks later i still can't find any live cd/dvd in the mirror repositories. Any hint when there is a 6.4. live cd available? I'd like to test centos 6.4 on several machines (x86_64) without foregoing installation. Thank you in advance

Supermicro & Boot Failures with DVD Centos 6.2

Eve.8ryone, I have had a SuperMicro machine running Centos 5.8 that had been progressively updated with yum-cron from a 5.0 CD install. I upgraded the SuperMicro with more memory, switched out the CD with a DVD and tried to boot to the Centos x64 6.2 dvd. My plan was to test the memory before I added the hard drives, but I could not I could not get the machine to boot from the disc. I also tried some Fedora install discs as well as LiveFedora and the machine would still not boot. I could get it to boot with a dreaded Microsoft install disc. We also updated the bios with the latest version and this did not make a difference. We have not tried to use these disks with the hard drives installed yet because we were in the process of just testing the memory. Has anyone had this problem with SuperMicro's. Is the problem as simple as a requirement to have a hard disc installed. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you, Greg Ennis

ECC memory errors

I started to receive this kind of messages a few days ago on one of my servers: Message from syslogd@ at Mon Apr 29 08:02:55 2013 ... server1 kernel: EDAC MC0: UE row 0, channel-a= 0 channel-b= 1 labels "-": (Branch=0 DRAM-Bank=0 RDWR=Read RAS=0 CAS=0, UE Err=0x2 (Aliased Uncorrectable Non-Mirrored Demand Data ECC)) I've never had ECC memory to fail on me before, so now I am wondering the following: * The server is running CentOS 5.7 and is acting as Xen dom0. Is there any possibility this could be a kernel issue and upgrading would help, or would upgrading at this point just cause more trouble? * Is there now a possibility that my data can get corrupt: should I shutdown the server as soon as possible or can I keep running until I replace the memories? * This server has been running for several years in a datacenter without problems: what are your experiences, are these kind of problems most likely caused by a failing motherboard or the memories? Strange Postfix problem

Hello, Was trying to setup postfix on my home PC. Running Centos 6.4. I don't have a static IP and use zoneedit and ddclient to keep my installation of zoneminder current. So I decided I wanted to get zoneminder to send me email alerts. Sent some test messages but none were sent. I went to webdnstools website thinking maybe there is a dns or network problem. When it checks my dns setup, everything is fine except the mail server is has the wrong IP address. The A record and the www A record have the correct IP. The IP address its reporting is one that belongs to my ISP. TIA

trying to recover an audio CD...

I'm trying to recover data from an audio cd. it is a recording of a live session, made on a professional cd recorder, on the fly. apparently, instead of stopping it and fixating the disc, someone turned off the power. oops. I know that wodim will fixate a disk as long as it was otherwise properly terminated (I've done it more than once), but this one it won't fixate. depending on the drive I try it in, I get different messages, but in either case, it remains unfixated. so i've tried reading it with cdparanoia, but it can't do anything with it, or not that I've figured out how to do. It is time consuming, but if you really want it.... flashing a BIOS on an HP server

Hi, folks, Since I've gotten a total of one response in days on the HP forum, maybe the collective mind here has an answer.... As I've mentioned in other posts, we have an HP dl580 g5 that started throwing ECC errors. But wait, it's worse: memory is mirrored.... And the thing is fully populated with 32 DIMMs. I took my best guess, pulled the matching set of DIMMs, and took two off of one of the four riser boards to replace them. I find that the m/b *must* be fully populated before adding riser boards... *and* the riser boards are mirrored. So I had to pull two riser boards, the one I'd taken two DIMMs off of, and it's mirror. Brought it back up, no errors. Then, Monday, I tried replacing one of the two, apparently good riser boards with one that I'd taken out, and had put the two DIMMs that I was guessing included the bad one. I *still* can't provoke the error. Maybe it only happens when I have everything fully populated? (I've run stress to the point where all 2G of swap is used....) Meanwhile, I'd joined an HP forum, and someone suggested that I really, really needed a BIOS update, and that would fix it. Sounds plausible. However, when I found the d/l of that, I ran into three things: first, the damn thing was an .exe, and they do *not* seem to have a .bin. Second, the "description" (laughable, at best) didn't seem to say anything about ECC errors, but whatever. Then there's the biggie: it *seems* to say that I have to install a previous BIOS update first... but I'm not sure. I would have thought it was a full package. Now, as the system is long out of warranty, and there's no way the other Institute will spring to pay HP, they won't even talk to me about *anything*, so I'm on my own. The upshot: does anyone here have a clue as to whether I can flash update the BIOS with the latest update, or whether I actually have to do the older one first? Thanks in advance. mark

Audio Problem

Hi All, I have Centos 6.0 on VirtualBox 4.2. Audio playback is working fine but I am unable to perform audio recording.
