exclude in a repo file

Hi All, I just discovered that the remi repo has updated versions of firefox. This is good news, but it leads me to a question. Is it possible to exclude all packages except one or two in a repo file? The man page for yum.conf didn't give me any hints. I tried unsuccessfully adding this line: exclude=!firefox*,!xulrunner* Is there a way to set up this repo so that when I run "yum upgrade" it will only check the firefox and xulrunner packages from the remi repo? c

touchpad problem?

Hi there, i recently installed centos 6 64bit version on my HPProBook4530s Laptop. i then issued the command to update the kernel only. it updated the kernel to latest stable 2.6.32-358.14.1.el6.x86_64 kernel. After update what i got is that my touchpad is not working. i am 1000% certain that new kernel caused this problem. so, what i should do with the kernel to overcome this problem or any other suggestion? Hi, I noticed that one of out "Centos 5" servers with an onboard "Marvell 88E8001" was showing some packet overruns. # ifconfig -a eth0 | grep "RX p" RX packets:1629537 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:3694 frame:0 So I thought about using a driver from "elrepo" the lspci id's suggest to install the "kmod-sk98lin" driver. I yum installed the kernel module and on reboot found the server was still using the old "skge" driver. ethtool -i eth0 driver: skge version: 1.6 Looking at modprobe.conf shows # cat /etc/modprobe.conf | grep eth0 alias eth0 skge [1] Should I just change the "skge" in the above line to "sk98lin" and reboot? [2] This motherboard has a "Marvell 88E8052" as a second NIC, currently disbled in the BIOS. Problem is that the "88E8001" NIC has to be "eth0" as it is the one used in a "flexlm" license server file. In Centos five how can you *force* a given NIC controller to always post at "eth0" ? Greetings, I am located in India. Any experience or suggestions for building blocks using copper preferably (and not fiber SAN)? Enclosures, Technologies (iscsi etc). Two external interfaces, one with "default" route and ping problem

Hi I have two different IP addresses (in a block of /29), one is on port 0 and the other is on port 2 of a Ciso 888. I am doing this so I can have two different certs with two different ip addresses. I have tried: 1) one machine, two real interfaces, two cables (eth0 and eth2) 2) one machine, one real interface eth0 and one virtual interface eth0:1, one network cable Using number 2) I can ping the two different ip addresses, no problem. The only problem here is that iptables does not work (I cannot create rules for eth0:1 - and yes I know about the security implications). I have a problem with number number 1) I can ping the first ip address and I get a return, but I cannot get a return when I ping the second ip address. I can see traffic coming into the second interface but it does not return. Now one of the interfaces needs the "default" route applied (is this correct??), which is eth0. What should I do about it? I got some information from dmesg. It mentions IRQ 17, but the only error is from before the most recent hibernation. Hi, Earlier I asked how I could arrange a bell tone on my CentOS box. I have pcspkr loaded, I can play music over my boxes but the system beep or bell is missing. Seeveral people commented on gnome issues, but I'm using only text-mode. Whe I go down with the cursor e.g. on the command-line I dont hear anything. Is there a way to switch the bell/beep on???
