[OT] What is the max hardlink number for a single file on XFS

Hi list, I have a little script that uses rysnc and hardlink to perform backups. Some days ago a friend told me that rsync could crash if the hardlink limit is reached. I know (and tested) that for ext4 the max number of hardlink for a single file is 65000 but I can't get a limit on XFS. Due to the fact that I can't get good resources from google search, I tried to reach its limit with a script creating a regular file and create in another dir many hardlinks. Currently I have: -rw-r--r-- 8730476 root root 12 16 lug 12.13 hlink/1 My scripts is trying to reach 20 mln of hardlink so need time to finish but 8730476 of hardlinks is an huge number. Someone know this limit? Thank you in advance.

Iptables rules not working

Hi, I am running CentOS Linux release 8.2.2004 (Core) on a remote server. I am running the below iptables command to allow SSH port 22 from a specific source IP 219.91.200.59 iptables -A INPUT -m tcp -p tcp -s 219.91.200.59 --dport 22 -j ACCEPT > service iptables save The above iptables ruleset is not working and I am still able to connect from the internet to SSH port 22. server setup best practices

Everyone, I am in the process of migrating over a samba Linux VM from an openvz based system to a vmware based system. I am migrating over these services: apache samba rsync (daemon via xinetd) I'm trying to improve my documentation and I want to make a linux vm best practices SOP that can be used as the template for all new server setups. Does anyone have any similar kinds of documentation that they would be willing to share (excluding confidential / credentials, etc) Chris

force CUPS print server to fit-to-page

Greetings, I've just set up an AirPrint server for a home office by following instructions in https://www.linux-magazine.com/Issues/2013/154/AirPrint-in-Linux and https://github.com/jpawlowski/airprint-generate Printer works just fine except for a problem described in https://serverfault.com/questions/897140/force-cups-print-server-to-fit-to-… Text jobs sent from iOS devices print full pages but photos and images print size is 4x6 inches instead of 8.5x11. CUPS v1.6.3 on CentOS 7. Does anyone have any ideas? Please advise, Josh.

CentOS 8 & HandBrakeCLI

Need HELP with old DSL modem setup on CentOS 7

Hello all-- I'm in a bind trying to reset an older Nether DSL modem. I did a manual reset on it. It was set up as "pass thru" by me and I want to "undo" that. When I boot now, the joys of Network Manager!, I can not just enter the modem manager IP address because I keep getting "network not accessible" .
