Hi, Is https://sigs.centos.org/kmods/ a part of RHEL 9? If yes, what is the repository name? If not, when can we expect it to be included? Thanks --- Lee

CentOS Stream 8: ISOs an Docker images

Dear CentOS, Regarding the Docker images on https://quay.io/repository/centos/centos?tab=tags&tag=stream8: What are the plans or expectations about the tags uploaded there and the ISOs published to https://www.centos.org/download/ (or rather the mirrors)? For example: From a mirror for Centos 8 Stream the current ISO is "CentOS-Stream-8-x86_64-20220915-dvd1.iso" (dated 5 days ago). And in the docker repo the current one has a LAST MODIFIED time of 10 hours ago. Would it be possible to consider labeling the docker images to match the ISO that they correspond to (if they do correspond to some ISO)? For example have a "quay.io/centos/centos/stream8:20220915" image? Regards, Carel

Fedora EPEL vs Oracle EPEL

Hi folks, Are there any Oracle Linux users here? What are you doing with EPEL? Do you use Fedora EPEL, or Oracle EPEL? What are your reasons for using one or the other? I am aware that these two repos are quite similar, but not identical. Regards, Anand

CentOS 9 Stream on Workstation with Ver. 1 x86_64 cpu

Hello All, RHEL9 deprecated version 1 x86_64 cpus. My old testbench HP workstation has such a version 1 cpu. I've tested install of Rocky Linux 9 and CentOS9Stream but no go upon reboot after install -- kernel panic. Is there a way to recompile the kernel to handle the legacy cpu after install -- via some other live cd, perhaps? Due to the fact I can't reboot after install, I'm not able to build a kernel using the following: https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Custom_Kernel Sidenote: I'd also like to include support for btrfs too, but first things first. Thank you.

Upgrading PHP under CentOS 7

I have been using the IUS repo to keep up-to-date with PHP on my CentOS 7 VPS. PHP 7.4.30 is nearing EOL and I am not seeing a newer version of PHP in the IUS repo. What options do I have? OT:: Multiple PHP versions

Hello, Been trying to get multiple versions of PHP on a CentOS 7 machine, off and on for the past couple months. I have followed 5 or 6 different howtos but none work. They are very similar and they seems to be done on a fresh install as most do an apache install is the steps. I setup two virtualhosts one for PHP5.6 and one for PHP 7.4. When I create a file with phpinfo, it reports back 5.6.xxx on both sites. So, I'm wondering if I need to remove the existing PHP version that is included with CentOS? Any suggestions or a better way to do this? TIA

Make copy of CentOS 7

I have a software raid 1 (2 disks) of CentOS 7 I want to make a working "copy" of this setup to another disk of the same size to another SSD and have it be bootable etc... Then edit something to turn off the RAID part as its only 1 disk. Or Run with the 1 disk and it will just think the second disk is failed. so can I just do "dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdd" and that is all ? Put that disk in another machine and it runs? where sda is the first raid disk, sdb is second raid disk, sdc is something else not related and sdd would be where the disk loads as USB. Thanks, Jerry
