Postfix header check help

Hi list, I have a requirement for a mail server that only allows email to pass with a particular word in the subject line. Reading the header checks docs for Postfix I thought I may be able to add this rule: !/^Subject: .*dingdong/ REJECT Need to add dingdong to subject line to send Which should reject all mail unless the subject line contains "dingdong". Unfortunately this seems to block all mail from passing. Removing the "!" works as expected and the server allows all mail to pass, unless dingdong is in the subject line which is rejected. Is this rule valid? Or is there a better way to make this work? Thanks Dean

Poor RAID performance new Xeon server?

I have just purchased an HP ProLiant HP ML110 G5 server and install ed CentOS 5.2 x86_64 on it. It has the following spec: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 3065 @ 2.33GHz 4GB ECC memory 4 x 250GB SATA hard disks running at 1.5GB/s Onboard RAID controller is enabled but at the moment I have used mdadm to configure the array. RAID bus controller: Intel Corporation 82801 SATA RAID Controller For a simple striped array I ran: # mdadm --create /dev/md0 --level=0 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdc1 # mke2fs -j /dev/md0 # mount -t ext3 /dev/md0 /mnt Attached are the results of 2 bonnie++ tests I made to test the performance: # bonnie++ -s 256m -d /mnt -u 0 -r 0 and # bonnie++ -s 1g -d /mnt -u 0 -r 0 I also tried 3 of the drives in a RAID 5 setup with gave similar results. Is it me or are the results poor? Is this the best I can expect from the hardware or is something wrong? I would appreciate any advice or possible tweaks I can make to the system to make the performance better. The block I/O is the thing that concerns me as mostly I am serving a 650MB file via samba to 5 clients and I think this is where I need the speed. Plus I am hoping to run some virtualised guests on it eventually, but nothing too heavy. Installing kernel RHEL-5.3 on CentOS 5.2 (x86_64)

Hi I tried to install the kernel Red Hat 5.3 x86_64 (2.6.18-128.el5.x86_64) with the command: rpm -Uvh kernel-2.6.18-128.el5.x86_64.rpm but there is problem with dependecy: ecryptfs-util < 44. How to solve problems with depencies when installing a beta kernel? I'm trying this kernel to see if I get CentOS working with the wireless iw4965. I tried the drivers from Intel, but the compilation failed. Thanks Marcelo

Guidelines for CentOS Mailing List posts

Some people don't know how to conduct themselves on usenet and mailing lists. Despite the mailing list guidelines being crystal clear about no html posting and not top-posting we have people still doing so. People still use text-readers to access the mailing list so you could be denying access to these people by flouting the mailing list guidelines. This is an example of top-posting http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2009-January/070494.html There are legitimate newbies who top-post because they know no different and can acquaint themselves with the mailing list guidelines at http://www.centos.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=16 Maybe the guidelines can updated to say trimming of emails as well and maybe link to examples on Wikipedia of top-posting and bottom-posting. Newbies aside, there are guys still top-posting who have ignored polite offlist messages not to top-post. Its not the time to be nannying people over how to behave on mailing list. RAID level and killing a job

First question - under CentOS 5, if I created non LVM partitions on a server with 6 disks - 2 disks are RAID 1 (OS), how do I remind myself or inquire the type of RAID of the remaining 4 disks (RAID 1 or RAID 5), without having to reboot? Second question - A newly installed server consisting of CentOS 5.2, straight off the DVD, I invoke a command by hand, realize I want to kill it soon after (logged in as root). I issue ps auwx|grep name_of_command, get the PID, and issue kill -9 PID. ps auwx|grep name_of_command is still running. The command is NOT part of any scheduled job. Why won't the process die? How else can I kill it without a system reboot? The command does not get invoked with a script, and is not a script itself - just a standalone binary. I tried CNTL-Z and CNTL-C. I finally killed the terminal it was running from. Nothing works. pkill doesn't work, either. Thanks. Scott, CISSP

time command with options

I am trying to get timing paramters from a CGI program. date is just a command for example used here. when I do: time { date; } everything is good. when I do: time -o file { date; } I get time -o file { date; } bash: syntax error near unexpected token `}' How do I correctly issue the command with an option for -o file to output the data to a file. acroread = resource hog

Any have trouble with acroread taking up massive cpu and memory? I exited my Firefox browser and the lil bastard was still hogging up my resources. Took up 69% of 4GB, and wouldn't let go, until a kill -9 showed'em, have to do it every time I open a pdf in firefox. Any use Xpdf or something else?

gcc 4.1 and OpenMP?

I was modifying a source to add OpenMP capabilities. I knew that gcc supports OpenMP since version 4.2, so I've compiled a recent (4.3.2) gcc and installed in my home directory, this because gcc shipped with CentOS 5.2 is 4.1. I've then noticed that my executable links /usr/lib64/libgomp.so, installed with gcc 4.1 from CentOS rpms... Is CentOS default compiler OpenMP ready?
