Hi I am building a new box and i want to get away from hand rolled stuff this time and i need Postfix with MySQL support compiled in - Is this available anywhere already built? thanks

Making a CentOS livecd bootable on a flash drive

I was following the guide at https://projects.centos.org/trac/livecd/ to do this, and sure enough it claimed the partition wasn't bootable, so fdisk to toggle the flag bootable yet it still didn't boot. Any subtle nuance anyone might know to do this? Thanks! jlc

Centos 5.1

I'm about to try Centos 5 (first time user). Question: I have the 5.0 CD-ROMs, so can I install with them and them update to 5.1 via the internet, or should I use the 5.1 CDs? Thanks. -Tom Tom Browder Niceville, Florida USA

Server to server communication

Hi all, I have 2 servers online and wish them to communicate and exchange information with each other at times. I have been developing a web application which is extremely CPU-intensive, and since I don't want to overload the main server which deals with the apache/php/mysql stuff, I got a separate server (a phenom) to deal with it. I prefer the communication to be secure, low latency, scalable and two-way ie. either server can initiate communication with the other. As the number of users increase, I will need to add more quad-core servers. What would be the easiest/quickest-to-implement way to do this? Is there a daemon I could use to do this, or would I need to develop my own? Since I have only ever had a single server, I have never had to do this before, so wouldn't have a clue as to where to start. (I Googled "server communication" but got a pile of semi-useless links) TIA

Way to not page swap programs

Is there a way to tell linux "dont ever swap out my program"... Like perhaps a list of programs (some setup file) that if any program in my file listing is running dont consider the program when looking for something to swap out? Does anything like that exist? Thanks, Jerry

Submission problem.....

My attachments are not being attached properly as they are not being probed by the catalog system as "test results",whenever i do my certification submissions. For this reason each attachment have to be re-attached. Please help........

Plotter?

Hello all, How do we install a plotter in Centos5? Is it regarded as ordinary printer? It's using an Ikon Corporation card to connect at PCI. The driver for the card (IHCP) is successfully compiled and installed. Any hints are really appreciated.
