Anyone use fetchmail for multiple users?

Trying to figure out how to configure it for multiple users. By default CentOS doesn't have a daemon setup if you want to do this. Preston

Anyone know why this wouldn't be valid mbox format?

Trying to get my wife's emails out of a proprietary format and into mbox for use on our local box. Doing some major file munging. In a test email the following doesn't work. (forgetting dates, email addresses, etc.) >From heraddress(a)herdomain.com Wed Oct 10 11:50:44 2005 -0700 Date: Wed, 10 Oct 2005 11:50:42 -0700 (PDT) This does work >From heraddress(a)herdomain.com Wed Oct 9 11:50:44 2005 -0700 Date: Wed, 9 Oct 2005 11:50:42 -0700 (PDT) This is just me munging files and trying them in Pine. Any idea why the first doesn't work and the second does? Preston

Good book on setting up procmail/spamassassin?

Anyone know of one? Is that O'Reilly book good? I need to get my fetchmail setup with some good filtering in procmail pronto and I can't remember how to set it up and compose the recipes properly. I'm willing to just buy a book at this point to make the spam and unwanted emails go away. Any advice or direction is appreciated. Of course I'll Google, but I was hoping someone here might have the answer off the top of their head, so I could get something going tonight. Preston

v4.2 x86_64 checksum fails

I downloaded the iso's for x86_64 (twice, from 2 different mirrors) and none of them check sum. Anyone else having this issue? Tim

Can't access files at localhost

I've created a symlink inside my /var/www/html/ folder called "web", which is points to a my /home/dave/web directory. Inside that directory, I created a folder for my web site called "website". I thought I should be able to access that web site through FireFox by going to either: httpd://localhost/web/website ... or: http://localhost/web/website ... but I just get errors. It says that httpd is not a registered protocol, and the connection to localhost/web/website was refused. Am I not addressing these sites correctly? Have I muddled the directory trees or http protocols somehow? Just to be clear, the directory with all the html and php files is: /home/dave/web/website The symlink is: /var/www/html/web Dave

up2date changing source

I have change the /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources to a local repo. All the updated programs seems to appear, but there are nothing in them (158kb to download), and when downloading headers to solve dependencies it stops. Have I missed one config file? kai

How CentOS Mirrors Work

Can someone tell me how the mirroring process works? Like, is any portion of bandwidth useful, or should something like a full T-1 be considered a minimum useful addition? I guess I'm wondering if when I'm doing updates, when one RPM is coming in, if it is coming in from one mirror server at a time or if it is a cumulative situation? So, like would an additional 50k capped connection would be helpful or just be a slow update connection? Best, John Hinton
