Postfix on Centos3.3

Hi, as far as security advisories from Redhat I only see the last update to Postfix being 9/2/04 2.0.16-14.RHEL3. Centos3.3 however added a newer version that I am currently using which matches the last 2.0 version official release at postfix.org. /pub/cAos/centos-3/3.3/contrib/i386/RPMS/ postfix-2.0.20-1.centos3.1 Since I am running this as my public smtp server it makes me wonder why Redhat has not moved to Postfix 2.1 which is the latest official release. Anyone have a opinion whether it is safe to stick with Redhats Postfix's release on a public smtp server or should I move to 2.1? thx -- Mike __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Remote Installation

I "upgraded" a server from RH9 to CentOS remotely, as from WBEL 3.0 to CentOS 3.0, and a RH8 to CentOS 3.0.. Used YUM to do it.. HOWEVER, it was (basically) Redhat - > Redhat (based) upgrade. I have no idea how well it would work to do a Deb box that way. Maybe build a local box (or VMWare image, that way you can use the Snapshot to recover screwups), with Deb on it and try the "upgrade" .. See if it bombs out.

CentOS Remote Installation ?

Hi. Is there a way to install centos over my actually debian or suse server like an autoinstaller script or rsync or nfs? I have no local access to the server so that the installation must be done over remote. If yes can anyone provide an faq or HowTo for a way to update my server to centos. Thanks Sven S.

Nico, I'm studying for RHCE, the book I'm using says linuxconf is more or less deprecated. There's a bunch of other gui tools, however, that you can use instead. Exciting news about cAos & CentOS - Please read

I have the great pleasure to announce that the cAos Foundation has been given the right to an exhibitor booth at the upcoming LinuxWorld Expo in Boston, Massachusetts from February 15th - 17th. (More info here: http://www.linuxworldexpo.com/live/12/events/12BOS05A) This is a awesome opportunity to further cAos and CentOS linux. But I do not feel that we should give 1/2 an effort. I feel that we need to make a big impression. The biggest thing I am looking for is volunteers that can help me make this a large success. Just because you cannot attend also does not mean you cannot help, there are numerous ways to. Through my employer I'm trying to acquire a Exhibit Kiosk and some computers and servers for demo purposes.
