Python and LibreSSL Patch

One of my hobbies (I need a life) is working on getting stuff to build against LibreSSL in CentOS 7 Part of that involves some test (not production) machines where openssl has been removed. Discovered some issues with Python built again LibreSSL - it passes the test suite in %check if you just change the BuildRequires but the result is some modules have some unresolved symbols the test suite oddly didn't catch (e.g. RAND_egd and some sslv3 stuff) http://awel.domblogger.net/7/purelibre/Python-2.7.5-rhel7-libressl.patch.txt That patch takes care of all of those (I think) as well as fixing the test suite - which fails after fixing python for the unresolved symbols unless disabling the checks that simply won't work with LibreSSL Anyway the patch has fixes from a variety of places as well as a few of my own. In *theory* it should also work if rebuilding the RHEL/CentOS against an OpenSSL build with SSLv3 removed. Though it might be interest to some. Patch doesn't apply to pristine Python 2.7.5 but to Python 2.7.5 after the various Red Hat patches are applied. -- -=- Sent my from my laptop, may not be able to respond timely

FYI. if anyone has problem the new thunderbird update 45.4.0 trying to start with Lightning calendar and gets the "Add-ons Manager" tab error message of a missing component, click the "Extensions" to left. in Lightning 'bar', select [Disable], restart thunderbird, problem solved. i do not use Lightning calender, so problem was easy to solve. if you have been using Lightning calender, problem may not occur. -- peace out. Just want to say Thanks!!

Just want to thank everyone for their help. I finally got the virtualization going. I know you guys that do this for a living may not feel this way, but in the eyes of this guy, this is AWESOME!! Been doing linux as a hobby since Slackware 1.0, then moving to RH 2.x. I have a little website but it's a hosted site. Back in the early days, I previously tried doing it from home. Upgraded to a 'business' class connection, static IP, etc. I remember one time driving from Charlotte, NC back to Lexington, SC at 8:00PM to reboot the server, and back to Charlotte. I now use my home server for testing new features. A php upgrade by my hosting company a few years about killed me. It took weeks to correct the deprecated functions. Hopefully now, I can stay a little ahead of the game. Now its set it an forget, unless there is a hardware issue, kernel update, version update, or me doing a reboot after an uninstall or something, I can spend my little free time on other things. Things have come a long ways because of people like you. Tip of the hat to you!!

Hey All, I'm considering moving from CentOS 6 to CentOS 7. I'm not interested in dealing with Gnome 3. I've heard good things about Mate, a fork of Gnome 2. it appears that Mate is available in the EPEL repository associated with CentOS 7. Have any of you tried Mate on CentOS 7? Virtualization Networking

Hello, I'm a little confused on which networking option I need to choose when setting up a VM. I set up two VMs this past weekend both with NAT. Both able to were access the internet. The first one, I created in my / file system but didn't really have the space so I deleted it. The second one, I created in /home/kvm, but deleted it as well when I couldn't access it FROM the internet. I had a full backup scheduled for that night and deleted it as well. I have one of those free domains/DNS from no-ip.com, centos7vm.ddns.net I plan to use as the host name. I want to be able to access this VM from the internet. So, how much in the network setup for the new installation do I need to do? Do I need to go with NAT or bridged? I did four installations last night and could get any of the access the internet with ym. Must have been dumb luck the first two times. I think it maybe something in iptables from one of the previous installs causing the problem. In ifconfig, I still have virbr0 and virbr1. Didn't have those before. Rather than enumerating them, here are my files from a centos-6 host system. This is a 2-NIC machine where the "host" uses eth1 and the guest(s) use eth0. Hey guys, My NFS server has been working really well for a long time now. Both client and server run CentOS 7.2. However when I just had to remount one of my home directories on an NFS client, I'm now getting the error when I run mount -a mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified This is the corresponding line I have in my fstab file on the client: nfs1.example.com:/var/nfs/home /home nfs rw 0 0 I get the same error if I try to run the mount command explicitly: mount -t nfs nfs1.example.com:/var/nfs/home /home mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified This is the verbose output of that same command: mount -vvv -t nfs nfs1.example.com:/var/nfs/home /home mount.nfs: timeout set for Sun Oct 2 23:17:03 2016 mount.nfs: trying text-based options 'vers=4,addr=162.xx.xx.xx.xx,clientaddr=107.xxx.xx.xx' mount.nfs: mount(2): Invalid argument mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified This is the entry I have in my /etc/exports file on the nfs server /var/nfs/home web2.jokefire.com(rw,sync,no_root_squash,no_all_squash) I get this same result if the firewall is up or down (for very microscopic slivers of time for testing purposes).
