Problem with Firefox and SSH/browser

Hi folks, I have a problem, shame on me I feel as newbie, I cannot open Firefox though ssh. ssh server is 7.2 and ssh client (running Xorg) is Fedora 23. Firefox does not open. Hi Guys, Anyone have any information on bugzilla 1324635. This seems like a private bug being tracked by redhat but is major and impacting us. Basically nfs gets impacted with large writes. Thanks!

Centos 7 and Software Raid Minimal Install

I am trying to install Centos 7 on a couple 4TB drives with software raid. In the Supermicro bios I set UEFI/BIOS boot mode to legacy. I am using the Centos 7 minimal install ISO flashed to a USB thumb drive. So I do custom drive layout something like this using sda and sdb. Create /boot as 512 MB XFS raid1 array. Create SWAP as 32 GB SWAP raid1 array. Create / on 3.xxx TB XFS raid1 array. I then get error. "Your BIOS-based system needs a special partition to boot from a GPT disk label. To countinue, please create a 1MiB 'biosboot' type partition." I cannot seem to create the biosboot partition so it is mirrored to both drives for redundancy. Any ideas how to do this? I want everything mirrored to both drives.

Hello, I have several CentOS 6 VMs, I have updated the first one successfully, but there is one thing I miss or I don't like; How do I get the standard console with 80x25 back? NFS problem: getattr ERROR: Request couldn't be completed in time

i posted this also to linux-nfs, maybe this is a more appropriate place as it's clearly a "user" problem ### hi, i'm trying to mount a NFS 4 share with "sec=sys" from a NetApp FAS3250 on a CentOS KVM guest. this doesn't work, the mount doesn't complete and hangs. mount command is: /bin/mount -v -t nfs -s -o vers=4.1,sec=sys 10.110.96.90:/home /home/cir what i'm seeing in tcpdump is: 08:36:48.875019 IP 10.110.96.112.2456702824 > 10.110.96.90.2049: 212 getattr fh 0,1/53 08:36:48.875355 IP 10.110.96.90.2049 > 10.110.96.112.2456702824: reply ok 96 getattr ERROR: Request couldn't be completed in time server: 10.110.96.90 client: 10.110.96.112 status of nfs services: nfslock: running rpcbind: running rpcidmapd: stopped this happens with a centos 6 _and_ a centos 7 client (both KVM guests). NFS 3 mount of the share doesn't work either. other kvm guests (centos 6) on the same physical host can mount the share with no problem. the netapp admin tells me there's "no problem" on his side. iptables is disabled of course. ### what could be the problem on my (client) side? could this be a kvm problem? kvm host is centos 6. network mode is "bridge". network driver is "virtio". thx for any advice matthias

Hello fellow CentOS users, on a freshly installed 7.2 machine and after reading https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7/ht… I try to enable iptables with following commands: # cat /etc/centos-release CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core) # rpm -qa | grep iptables iptables-1.4.21-16.el7.x86_64 # sudo systemctl list-units --type service --all | grep iptables ● iptables.service not-found inactive dead iptables.service # sudo systemctl enable iptables.service Failed to execute operation: No such file or directory What missing file is meant here please? Status of RPMFusion repo for CentOS 5 and 6 ?

Hi, I have to maintain (and eventually beef up) desktop clients in public libraries running CentOS 5 and 6. The hardware is still OK, though sometimes really old, so the least evil will be to keep CentOS 5 on the old machines until that version is EOL. I've been using CentOS 5 as my main system somewhere between 2007 and 2009. At the time the RPMForge was my favorite third-party repository, though I understand that project is dead. I'm looking for a clean and viable solution to replace this. Here's what I intend to do. 1. Configure the base, updates and extra repos with a priority of 1. 2. Configure EPEL with a priority of 10. 3. Configure RPMFusion with a priority of 10. Now I don't know about the status of RPMFusion. Is this third-party repo still maintained? I wonder, since their home page only gives information about RHEL/CentOS 5 and 6. From what I understand, it's healthy to mix it with an EL+EPEL base. I'm planning to add some basic (and somewhat extended) multimedia capability to those desktop clients, so packages like mplayer, ffmpeg, lame and the likes will come in handy. For eventually missing packages (like eventually an old version of VLC for reading DVDs), I'll just grab the SRPMS from the old RPMForge repo and setup my own repo after building them locally.
