Problems with CentOS 8 kickstart

Hi All, I am having problems with a kickstart install of CentOS 8 When I try to do a completely automated install using PXE/UEFI it get to the point where it reads the kickstart config file. Hi Leon, Thanks a lot for taking a look at my test and the suggestion. We have tested this suggestion echo never > /sys/kernel/mm/transparent_hugepage/enabled Unfortunately, the Ram usage was the same with this option changed as well. Just to give some additional context to the original question to all, We see 10-25 percent more RSS on CentOS 8 ( as compared to CentOS 7) for the same Java vm process that we are benchmarking . And in that case , the RSS growth for the executable and the shared library of our application is considerably higher. Perhaps, for the big server use cases the rss growth did not matter, but for us, we are trying to use it in an embedded scenario and this is a major issue. We will be glad to hear any further suggestions/ tests that we could check to further understand the differences between the 2 versions. Centos 8 crypto-policy to get SSL Labs A rating

Dear Community I try to get an SSL Labs A rating for my CentOS8 Apache-server. I'am sure it has to do with my lack of understanding the crypto-policies configuration, can anybody give me an advice where i am wrong? BTRFS to ext4

Hello Everyone, We have two virtual machines running CentOS 7, one for file sharing and one for email. Both base Filesystems run BTRFS. I need to convert both filesystems over from BTRFS to ext4. Both guest VM's are in a vmware environment on the same server. The file server has 2.8 TB of space total allocated to it, 2.1 TB of total used space The mail server has 2TB allocated to it, and 982 GB of total used space. The host it is attached to has 13.97 TB of total usable space, with 3.4 TB free. What steps would you go through to migrate the file systems over? Would you set up a duplicate VM and rsync data over? Expand the capacity of the existing VM, add a new partition then move data over from one partition to another from within the same VM? Two directories for 8.4.2105 and 8-stream in the centos mirrors

Recently, it appears that two directories for 8.4 and 8-stream are being distributed in the Centos mirrors. You can't see it if you view the mirrors, but if one downloads the filelist.gz file and grep for '^\.\/\.' one will see the directories, with content, .8.4.2105 and .8-stream. Can this be explained? An error or a new distribution concept?? Rgds

Tracking down application sending mail in CentOS 7

I am running CentOS 7 on a server where I have only recently installed postfix. Postfix is configured to only send outgoing mail via an external relay server and test mails created on my server are indeed delivered via this external server. However, I must have some other application on the server generating mails where the recipient's address is incorrect resulting in being rejected by the external relay server. Viewing /var/log/maillog I get some information but cannot see which application generated that e-mail, nor the content of it which would likely allow me to see where it comes from. Can anyone suggest how to track down the app so I can reconfigure the mail address? Thanks.

Help with default shell

Hi all, I have a computer with CentOS 7. The users are authenticated using OpenLDAP. On LDAP the default shell is csh. When ssh to login it works, i.e. $SHELL = /bin/csh Also, when using xrdp it works. However, a login from the keyboard and screen attached computer we get $SHELL = /bin/bash Any help is welcome. libvoikko-devel not available on Centos8?

Hi, Any ideas why CentOS 8 doesn't include the libvoikko-devel package? The libvoikko package is present but it doesn't have the development headers in it.
