libdrm info wrong when build with mock - test solution??

Hello guys... mount bind problem

On CentOS release 6.7, there's file system problem. CentOS 6 kickstart missing 'shell command prompt' screen at ALT+F2

Hi, I've recently setup a centos 6 kickstart environment. Interesting fact is that the helpful 'shell command prompt' screen is missing when I press ALT+F2 key combination even on locally connected keyboard and monitor. ( my kickstart runs in text mode). All other screens can be found without issues with ALT+Fn key combination. I googled internet, and found someone reported similar issues, say, here is one link: http://serverfault.com/questions/322374/kickstart-virtual-console-no-shell-…. I read the link several times and still dont quite see why this happens, got confused at the following places: 1, when -- at which installation stage -- the 'shell command' screen will show up?2, if centos 6.6 and 6.7 comes without 'shell command prompt' screen with default installation media, then which installation media contains the file(s) that we can tune? /etc/inittab doesn't contain the entries related to tty consoles. Centos 7.x doesn't have the issues and it looks like centos 7 leverages a new method to get shell command prompt. Many thanks in advance. Best,David

What's the difference between nmcli fields ipv4.addresses and IP4.ADDRESS?

Hi All, nmcli tool in CentOS 7.1 uses same fields with upper and lower case with different meanings. What's the difference between pv4.addresses and IP4.ADDRESS in "nmcli con show" command? Where nmcli fields are documented? I searched online but didn't find nmcli documentation. RHEL 7 Networking Guide doesn't explain nmcli options in details. I'd appreciate your comments. Joe

journaled quotas in CentOS6?

Hi CentOS 6.7 (kernel 2.6.32-573.el6.x86) ... Wanted to set up group quotas on a new ext4 filesystem. When i was initialising via quotacheck, received this message > quotacheck -vcg /HOMES quotacheck: Your kernel probably supports journaled quota but you are not using it. I liked sound of that, so i brushed up on the procedure and modified the mount line in fstab to: defaults,noatime,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0 on doing a mount /HOMES -o remount, i was met with this: mount: /HOMES not mounted already, or bad option and was unable to mount the filesystem until i removed the journaling options I've come across how-tos and blogs by people who were doing this in CentOS6.5. The mount manpage makes no mention of jquotas Any thoughts on how to get jquotas in 6.7? thanks - cal

Hello, I run a CentOS 6 machine with samba, serving approx. 150 Windows users with samba running as an NT-like PDC. After today's samba update (samba-3.6.23-30.el6_7.x86_64 etc.), nobody can log in. They all get the "Trust relationship failed" error message. If I downgrade: yum downgrade samba-common samba-winbind samba-winbind-clients samba-client samba samba-doc samba-domainjoin-gui libsmbclient - the problem goes away. What am I missing? 7.2 installer says "/dev/root does not exist"

Hi folks, I have an existing CentOS 7.2 system, that I want to re-install. I copied /vmlinuz and /initrd.img into /boot, place my kickstart file into /boot, and created a grub2 menu entry for this, as follows: menuentry "Install CentOS 7" { insmod gzio insmod part_gpt insmod xfs set root=(hd0,2) linux /vmlinuz console=tty0 console=ttyS1,115200 inst.ks=hd:/dev/sda2/ks.cfg initrd /initrd.img } When I reboot and select this, the kernel boots, unpacks the initrd, and then exits with the warning "/dev/root" does not exist. What am I doing wrong? I thought this would be enough to get the installer to run and re-install the system from my kickstart file. Regards, Anand
