Hi all,
Recently I've suffered a problem with my SMTP service provider. It seems the SMTP server allows open relay, so my account is lockdown by CentOS list policy.
Because of that I desubscribe my last account and re-subscribe in CentOS list with the present gmail account.
I can send any messages in the list, but the curious problem is I don't see my own messages
¿?¿?
I can see my sended messages in CentOS mail archive but not in my email client (ThunderBird).

If you have a filter configured I suspect you won't see your message until someone replies to it.
Alternatively, have you checked to make sure Gmail's not flagging messages from centos@centos.org as Spam ? Not that you'll see this message if that's the case. :)

Yes, I've a filter for CentOS list, but is a simple rule which move the CentOS' messages from main folder to another. There is not problem here.

I recieve all the CentOS mail list messages fine and, moreover, I've seen several messages in the list from @gmail.com domain.

CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos
Hi Jordi,
I may be wrong - but I remeber from another mailing list that if you use gmail, you will only see your message(s) once somebody else has replied to them.

It's possible. If it's true I'll change gmail account to another SMTP provider without these disadvantages. ¿Maybe Yahoo?

Hi Jordi,
This maybe off but, when you subscribed to the list, did you check the Yes box in the options to receive your own posts to the list? Just a thought!!
Have a nice day!!

More likely is the smtp server's IP address made the blocklists, and nobody wants your mail. People should still be sending to you though.

If you send your email via the original, problematic service provider (technically, this is fine - I have several yahoo addresses, but I never use Yahoo's smtp service), then your emails will continue to be blocked.
Note that it is perfectly possible for you to configure your email client to send email "from" any address you choose including mine. It might not be legal, however, for you to use someone else's address, and you will certainly ignore folk.

As someone else has already mentioned, this is a "feature" of gmail. Google has decided for you, that to keep clutter down, they just will not display any message that you send to a discussion list. You will have the message in your Sent folder, and they have determined for you that you don't need to see the message come back from the list.
You can complain to Google about it, but I am not sure if that will do any good. People have been complaining about this for a while now, with no response.

Ok... so, one less Gmail user. :-/ I've created a new Yahoo account and I'll use Yahoo's SMTP service; I hope to see this message in list.

mailman has an option to not send duplicate messages to the author.
