If that option is not enabled in the stock kernels then you need to grab the kernel source and build your own kernel with that option enabled.
Since your asking the question, I suspect your linux experience isn't all that great, so I would advise caution doing this and try to find another way to address the issue your experiencing.

I am currently using multipath with stock CentOS kernel. I did however have to use the RDAC driver provided by Dell to fully support the md3000 attached to it.
man -k multipath for relevant stuff
