I am runnig sendmail 8.12.8. I am getting the below error.
[root@mail MailScanner]# tail -f /var/log/maillog Jan 11 11:20:40 mail sendmail[10646]: STARTTLS: read error=generic SSL error (0) Jan 11 11:20:41 mail last message repeated 22494 times Jan 11 11:20:41 mail sendmail[10646]: STARTTLS: read error=generic SSL error (0) Jan 11 11:20:41 mail last message repeated 8894 times Jan 11 11:20:41 mail sendmail[10646]: STARTTLS: read error=generic SSL error (0) Jan 11 11:20:41 mail last message repeated 2154 times Jan 11 11:20:41 mail sendmail[10646]: STARTTLS: read error=generic SSL error (0)
Why is that? How can I avoid it?
Pls note that this is a Server runnig RedHat 9.

You do realize that RedHat 9 is not CentOS? You might get some help, but you didn't give much info.

How is it configured? Can sendmail read your certificates? Is there a problem with your ssl cert? (expired, damaged, other)
Why is that? How can I avoid it?
No clue. I haven't seen your configs, and I haven't looked at RH9 since centos3 was released.
