So after much research it seems the only way to "help" the gnome-shell memory leak issue (I still see it on CentOS 7.6) is to do "export DISPLAY=:0.0; gnome-shell --replace" periodically. Perhaps in cron.
Is that an OK solution for the LONG haul? Seems to knock the memory back down and box appears to keep running.
Thanks,
Jerry

Sounds like a hammer method. Is this issue already communicated to upstream (bugzilla)?
-- LF
Looks like over time the --replace is not an option.
Is there an repo that has update Gnome-shell and needed files that I can try ?
Thanks,
