Me neither. I am trying to build a syslog server and this version has the capability to create separate logfiles based on ip address, with having to enumerate the individual ips.

Me neither. I am trying to build a syslog server and this version has the capability to create separate logfiles based on ip address, with having to enumerate the individual ips.

Interesting featury. Only way to do it is to download 5.8.7 tarball, use 5.8.5-1 spec file and built it on your own. I would attempt (I use rsyslog for my wireless routers), but I have no time for that now.

Well I took your advice and used the fc15 spec file after ripping out the systemd junk, and rsyslog 5.8.7 seems to be working ok on my centos 6.2 box.
It would be really nice to have a real centos 6.x version of rsyslog-5.8.7 though.
