How do I check the last shutdown, or any if possible for the status related to whether or not it was clean? I need to know if a UPS had successfully shut a few boxes down.
Thanks! jlc

You should be able to check the boot logs to see if the file systems were mounted cleanly or if they had to have their journals checked.

I see this in messages: Aug 14 12:36:05 xen kernel: EXT3-fs: INFO: recovery required on readonly filesystem. Aug 14 12:36:05 xen kernel: EXT3-fs: write access will be enabled during recovery. Aug 14 12:36:05 xen kernel: EXT3-fs: recovery complete. Aug 14 12:36:05 xen kernel: EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Aug 14 12:36:05 xen kernel: EXT3 FS on dm-0, internal journal Aug 14 12:36:05 xen kernel: EXT3 FS on sda1, internal journal Aug 14 12:36:05 xen kernel: EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
Doesn't look good, but I wish I could get a definitive answer...
