Hi,
I use previous 4.4 version on my two Compaq AlphaServer systems. Is there a chance that CentOS 5 will also become available for Alpha?
Thanks, Rob.

It is possible ... but we need a GOOD hardware donation for alpha.
We have a rack in a good datacenter, and adding a good alpha machine there would certainly help.
Anybody got a good one for the team :P
Thanks, Johnny Hughes

Johnny,
If we may know,
What city is the datacenter in (for shipping purposes)?
What is considered "good" alphaserver?
What is considered "best" alphaserver?
Be specific on model numbers, processor(s), and RAM please.
Thanks

Buy some ES40 or ES45. DS20e is also fine. It should be EV67 or EV68 class. Everything >= 667 MHz is fine. The more processors the better. The more RAM the better. At least 1 GB.

Great.
Nice boxes. I could remember when I would dream of having some of the original search engines Alpha boxen power.
Does the unit stay in the USA or need to be shipped overseas is what I was getting at.
If usa, what city or state

Lance's mail stated that the DC is in Chicago, IL. So yes, it'll stay in the USA.
