Is there any differences between the repos used by Centos 5.8 and those used by Centos 6.x please - ie does C6 use the same 3rd party repos as C5 does?
Is there a Centos wiki article for C6 repos?
Kind Regards,
Keith

3rd party repo quality is all over the place. many/most of the regularly updated general interest ones should have a 6.x tree. some special purpose ones might not.

The main CentOS repos are the same ... Base, Updates, CentOSPlus, Extras, Fasttrack, CR
The major 3rd Party repos also exist ... rpmforge, elrepo, EPEL ... I those are the ones I normally use for both 5.x and 6.x

I see I also have kbsingh-CentOS-Extras . Is that still current?

There are things there for el5 ... nothing for el6.
But that repo came about before EPEL and I would say most things from there are now in EPEL ... I would only use it if it contained something that was not in EPEL or rpmforge and I really needed that package.

Thanks for the replies about this.
I'll do a minimal installation and use the anaconda created kickstart file for another go.

I also maintain some repos for EL6, maybe they are of interest: http://li.nux.ro/repos.html
