Centos 4.2, installed mysql using yum....rpm did not create the mysql user....bug in rpm script or am I doing something wrong? but I did not do anything except yum install mysql & cat /etc/passwd ?

Did you install mysql and mysql-server?

Did you install mysql and mysql-server?
Thanks problem solved..installed mysql only...
If only I would read more attentively...Sorry to bother the list for an obvious thing...I must have read it in the Mysql install page three-four times...and still not clicked till you asked the Q.
