some general comments...
15.6" screen with 1366x768? *eeeew*. that resolution belongs on a 13" screen, a 15" screen should be significantly higher, maybe even 1920x1024 (such as my wife's XPS15)
15.6" is a big laptop, rather unweildy for carrying anywhere. 8.5 lbs is *heavy*, too.

I agree the screen resolution sucks - my current circa 2006 is 1280x800 - as far as the weight I generally never carry it anywhere - usually use it in my easy chair. I am looking specifically for more speed than my core 2 duo has.
