My update was trouble-free. updated something in the neighborhood of 180 packages.

Well done indeed, none of my CentOS systems show any problems either.

is the mirror synching officially complete? I'm seeing 5.3 x86_64 ISOs on mirrors.kernel.org, which are for some reason hanging when I try and rsync my local copy prior to upgrading my dozen dev servers

Yep, Karanbir was right...I updated a bit too early. Once my local repo was synced, everything worked great. Thanks, dev team and everyone involved!

Seconded (or thirded, or fourthed... or...)
Update went without issue on the desktop -- currently updating the laptop. I don't anticipate problems because these are pretty generic installs. Didn't do anything special, not even a 'yum clean all' (forgot about it again).
Thanks everyone.

So when will 6.0 be out?
(sorry; yes I am OCD-enabled; no obviously I have no SMARTctl)

On a more serious note; please don't! Thanks.
