Hi there - I know this is borderline "ot" - but I was wondering if anbyone could recommend a good helpdesk/ticketing system for use on centos 4.x.
Thanks!

RT is good, but perhaps overkill: http://www.bestpractical.com/rt/. The hard way to install: http://wiki.bestpractical.com/index.cgi?RHEL4InstallGuide or the rpm way: http://wiki.bestpractical.com/index.cgi?RPMInstall

I use this way, but have problems with updating...
Error: Missing Dependency: perl(DBD::Oracle) is needed by package perl-DBIx-SearchBuilder
I now have to
I don't use oracle so I can't install DBD::Oracle. I wrote the person responsible for the repository about this but never got an answer.
Anyone has this problem as well?

Yes. You have the rpmforge repository as well. Add a line
exclude=perl-DBIx-SearchBuilder
to that repository file. The rpmforge version is newer than the version in the RT repository, but does require perl(DBD::Oracle).
After that you can use yum normally.
I'd see that as a bug in the package on rpmforge.

Ralph

I installed a test system via: http://wiki.bestpractical.com/index.cgi?RPMInstall a while back and didn't have any dependency problems. I thought the centos link ended up pointing to the same repository. (I'm still running an earlier version in production).

ExoPHPDesk is simple and functional:
