The install hangs in "Checking dependencies in packages selected for installation..." with the bar at 3/4 or so. I thought this was because I took the offer to upgrade my CentOS 4 installation, but it hangs at the same spot for a new install, even when I do not tamper with the selected packages.
Have you been patient enough? On some low-end CPUs it may take up to 15-20 minutes to solve dependencies!
RHEL5 has the slowest Anaconda I've ever seen.

Can one ever be patient enough :-) But I had lunch, walked the dog and left it sitting there for several hours. Took a few minutes to get to 3/4 or the bar, and then it sat there for hours.

Something else I've tried when an OS or hardware misbehaves... remove ALL power - AC cord for a desktop, battery and DC adapter for a laptop. Let stand for 30 minutes. Rinse and repeat as necessary.
