I changed the default player for MP3 files to xmms, if the file is local it works fine, if the file is on a network drive ( all my music is ) it has the movie player as the default player, any way I can change that, Thanks...

totem uses gnome-vfs, and xmms does not. If you were to somehow switch your network-connected files to start xmms then you wouldn't be able to open them. Either mount the network drives locally or find another audio player that does use gnome-vfs, such as rhythmbox.
Thanks, on my system rhythmbox doesn't work too good but mounting the network share locally did the trick...
