Hi,
Kopete does not show any contact in ICQ...
Will there be fixes for this? Or do I have to wait for kde-redhat to support centos5?
Thx Rainer

Ermm.
Where did you get kopete from? A "yum list "*opet*" doesn't show the package to me, neither in CentOS repositories nor in rpmforge.
So your conclusion "Kopete broken in CentOS 5" isn't completely true, as we do not ship it at all.
Regards,
Ralph

I think kopete is in the kdenetwork package.
[1]$ rpm -qf /usr/bin/kopete kdenetwork-3.3.1-2.3

# rpm -qf /usr/bin/kopete kdenetwork-3.5.4-4.fc6
which is a centos 5 package.

I really should go home now. Sorry. You might want to report it as a bug, if someone else can confirm that problem.
Never mind. Gaim works so far.
Well, maybe someone in this thread here sees the same problem ...
Cheers,
Ralph

Ok, no answer. But I do not think I'm doing too much wrong so I filed it under http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=1946
Thx Rainer

Saw that, but I have no means of testing it (I neither use KDE nor do I have ICQ contacts).
So if *anyone* on here can replicate that problem please add to the bug or say something here.
Cheers,
Ralph

Hey all - I haven't been following this thread in a few days, but if you want to mail me offlist (so as not to rehash) I can try and verify some things. We are running kopete on Centos 4.4 x86_64 with qca-tls.

I think CentOS 5 is required here :)

Ralph
Ahhh yes. I see now. Thanks for the enlightenment.
cheers, Thomas

I can confirm the bug, fixed in kdenetwork-3.5.6.

So it's a real upstream bug (KDE)? I don't know if that will migrate into Upstreams kdenetwork sooner or later - Rainer: Maybe open a bug there? I feel uncomfortable doing that, as I really cannot test anything regarding this bug.
Cheers,
Ralph

Hmm, where? at kde? They have already fixed it so this is probably useless.

fyi, kopete is included in kdenetwork.
