Hi all, sorry if I am Off Topic on this list, but I think that this could be interesting also for other people; anyway: what would be the best way to recover a password from a zip file? And for other type of files (eg. xls, pdf)? I googled a bit, and I can only find ugly/unthrusted ( ;) ) windows programs... what about Linux?

No ideas off the top of my head. Worst case scenario you could always run one of those utilities under wine.
