Is anyone using successfully a specific rpm of Dovecot 1.0.something? There's nothing on dag and a few on rpmfind (for Fedora Core), but I don't know if they'd work. The one coming with Centos 4 (0.99.11) has quite a few bugs and I'd like to put an upgrade on top of it.

My Alternatives repo has 1.0beta2 for i386 (tested), and I'm currently working on getting 1.0beta5 uploaded (untested).

Thank you, Ignacio, I'll give it a try soon when I have my second CentOS machine up, I don't want to put it right on a production machine.

keep in mind the upstream and therefore centos backports fixes so just because it says .99 doesn't mean it doesn't have the bug fixes from 1.x

True, but there are also some functionality changes between 0.99.x and 1.0, such as being about 2-200x faster for some operations (IMAP move anyone?).

FTR, I now have dovecot 1.0beta5 on my systems here, and I'm *very* pleased with the results.
