Today , I work on my laptop which uses the CentOS x86_64 operating system ,
Suddenly the X-windows restarts when left at the login screen for more than a few seconds.
The error in my syslog is:
Apr 12 15:26:45 localhost gdm[2892]: gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error - Restarting :0
This message came up serval times previously ~
Any other help would be nice.

I'm having a similar problem, X suddenly restarted. When I searched Google for the stuff in the log it mentions some problems with old versions of firefox, but I don't have the bad version installed. What causes signal 15? Why the gdm fatal X error? What other logs should I be looking at?
