issue? I don't get it. You seem to think that money is the end all be all for OSS. I would suggest that's a mindset you may wish to change as money doesn't drive OSS.
Are you saying there are no OSS folks who have lost their houses, their cars and their Internet connections and therefore have difficulty continuing contributing to OSS projects?
I hope that is the truth, but I sincerely doubt that it is.
Not substantially different in spirit than OSS is our Community Networking Grant program which supports ~ 300 not-for-profits.
When we began in 1995, we offered free Internet connections to each school, library and hospital in our service area of 43 counties in north Texas.
The recent downslide in the economy has made that immeasurably more difficult to continue, but we are continuing with it for another year.

Can you please stop this? You are creating new thread after new thread from old threads I wasn't interested in and set to ignore. Now you create them as new threads, so I have to ignore these as well. This grows annoying. Put together with your habit of off-topic posting YOU get annoying. Thanks.

I am sorry (for you) to hear that you are tool-challenged to the extent that you can not select what you want to read.
There are tools for that, perhaps even meds for that.
Gentleman:
Can we all just get along? I love reading this list and posting my own questions as well... But really - is this helping anyone?

I've done occasional OT posts, but I stop - this set of threads has been going on all week, I think, or was it since last Friday.
Please take it offlist. In the past, I've occasionally done that, rather than keep OT stuff in an inappropriate forum.

We were taught by our Rhodes scholar debate mentor to refute untruths and that is what I did.

Temperance being a virtue (in moderation at least): Refute untruths that are pertinent to CentOS on the CentOS list, refute other untruths in private conversation or on other lists.
This list has a long-term objective: To be a search/query archive for people trying to solve problems with their CentOS systems. The lower the signal/noise ratio, the less useful our conversation here. Please respond on this list to messages on this list with this in mind.

Sure - I get it... But any prolonged debate - just address those concerns/issues with that person...
I hate to say it, but I suspect either nobody cares or just doesn't want to hear it...
Remember, I responded to you directly about an earlier post as I didn't feel it added any value to this mailing list. This is exactly what I meant and why...

This was amusing to start with, but now it's irritating. Please stop.
Ben
Ben,
My apologies - I don't typically get caught up in this type of pointless tit-for-tat...
I'll personally stop...

Larry,
I try to conduct myself in a professional manner whenever I am visible to the world. I am doing my best to do so now.
There are many things I'd like to say and am not going to do so... So, how about this - if you care to continue this conversation, please email me directly and I'll be happy to "discuss" this further.
Yours truly,
Scot

I don't care how old you are, this is sophomoric, the kind of crap we'd see every September and Jan or Feb, back when I was hanging out a lot on usenet in the early nineties. Grow up - what are you, some kind of Aggie?

I'm sure many people won't mind if you get banned from this list. Stop this stupid OT stuff. If you have something against FOSS, then go and tell you M$ buddies, I'm sure they'll enjoy this kind of childishness.
Larry, enough is enough. Please stop your behavior. This list is not for your personal amusement. If you cannot behave like any other person on the list, please go elsewhere.
