from the intel website: Your search for Intel® PRO/DSL 2200 Modem currently does not have any software downloads available :(
I couldn't find anything ...

ummmmm the Qwest.com website has stuff... just that it is Win or Mac or whatever.
i think intel dusted all "older" product support stuff to get the world moving forward at their pace or whatever. i seem to recall something in a press release to that effect. hopefully people mirrored them extensively on the www.
I have spent a decent amount of time searching for Linux support of this product over a coupla months, yet to no avail...
so i thought i would bring to list and see if someone rolled a driver solution or has pointers or "anything" helpful at all.

If you have CentOS-4 on the machine, you might try booting with the kernel in CentOS Plus installed. It has all the kernel hardware modules turned on ... if CentOS-4 can detect it and has a drive for it, it should find it then.

thanks. i can move files around pretty easy of course. so i take it you want me to go to the plus directory on a mirror and snag a certain kernel?
no prob.
since i havent recompiled and/or installed a kernel for a looong time (some 1.2.13 and 2.0/2.2 stuff i think), can you point me to instructions on how to do this properly..
i.e. download kernel file and install and setup properly. this is a / and /boot scenario.
