I have just completed building the RPMS for the CentOS Enterprise IPA (Identity, Policy, and Audit) Server.
This is based on the sources from the Red Hat Enterprise IPA server.
Documentation can be downloaded here:
http://www.centos.org/docs/5/pdf/eipa/1.0/
The RPMS are located in the testing repository.
http://dev.centos.org/centos/5/testing/SRPMS/CEIPA/
http://dev.centos.org/centos/5/testing/i386/RPMS/CEIPA/
http://dev.centos.org/centos/5/testing/x86_64/RPMS/CEIPA/
For anyone who wants to test EIPA, please install and provide feedback on this thread:
http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=3880
Thanks, Johnny Hughes
Neat!
Thanks!

I forgot to mention that the CentOS Directory Server is already part of the regular CentOS Extras repository, and should install from there as a dependency for CentOS EIPA

Good to know! I was thinking that is was still available on testing repository.
By the way, any position about this issue? http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=3719

I am not the lead guy for the Directory Server (hi Tim :D) ... however, my feeling on that bug is that you need to get Red Hat to do it that way and not to have us do it.
Our goal is to make it just like upstream does it ...
At least that is my initial take.
Now, if upstream does release it that way and we somehow did not make it the same, then that is a different issue, and we will correct it. But I would think that is unlikely.

What's the right command to install? I tried:
yum --enablerepo=c5-testing install 'ipa-*' and got a depsolving error - ipa-server conflicts with mod_ssl

can't have those both on the same machine...they are indeed conflicting
OK, I'm just looking through the list archives because I'm revisiting my centralised authentication as per an email I'd sent out a while back. And I hit upon this. And incidentally I believe this is one instance where I think top-posting is warranted so please do not chew me out for it (left original in tact as a memory refresher since it has been nearly 2 months)
Anyway, from the original message I do not see any docs for setting up the server. The documentation URL provided below has a doc for the client side, and for the user, but not for setting up the server.
Also wondering how this compares to Centos-DS and which one I should be using.
thanks, -Alan

http://www.centos.org/docs/5/pdf/eipa/1.0/Release_Notes.pdf 1.3.1 says "Red Hat EIPA 1.0 depends on Red Hat Directory Server"
so, EIPA is additional functionality for Centos-DS.

Of course it would be in the ONE doc I did not look at :-)
I typically find release notes fairly useless - a list of what bugs are fixed and so on.
