Autorun is something KDE uses for it's automounting and some other extras. It is run at login usually from your .kde/Autostart/ directory.

1) Which is it? Are you running CentOS or Ubuntu (or both)?
2) Either way, this is not an OS issue, it depends on your gdm, and the answer is easily found in your gdm documentation.
