I downloaded the iso's for x86_64 (twice, from 2 different mirrors) and none of them check sum. Anyone else having this issue?

yes, alot of people. Here's the md5sum I (and other people) see on the .isos themselfs:
b1ea20a7f968523c1fc1ba0afb59ace5 CentOS-4.2-x86_64-bin1of4.iso fc7d78e1ae0552fbf18fa94f7ed40973 CentOS-4.2-x86_64-bin2of4.iso 8d513283d6364655a7752db8f90da189 CentOS-4.2-x86_64-bin3of4.iso b5209952f054c2fc251d34c001eb583b CentOS-4.2-x86_64-bin4of4.iso
and here's what they should be according to md5sum.cd:
889919ed13e4e1781e7dd92af465fe20 CentOS-4.2-x86_64-bin1of4.iso ffb9e0ec1999f62e3224bcd66a042090 CentOS-4.2-x86_64-bin2of4.iso d7d512f55a3274eb86069d9fe2ee9dc2 CentOS-4.2-x86_64-bin3of4.iso 0d899f16954f6a8aa127867b0ffc7f53 CentOS-4.2-x86_64-bin4of4.iso
Probably someone failed to update the md5sum.cd file...

That's exactly what I get. The problem is when I try to update my internal rsync server (yam) it gets a lot of errors. The 4.2 i386 works perfectly, but they do checksum.

Just confirmed, the x86_64 cd isos are bad, new ones are hitting the mirrors and torrents.

you will be able to rsync the new images onto the old ones - only a very small chunk of data has changed.
Also, pickup the new torrent and it will rectify the iso's already downloaded.

Does this problem also affects DVD image?

the DVD image should be fine, check against the included md5sum.

This reminds me: CentOS team, please GPG-sign the md5sum-files for the ISOs.
Thanks for CentOS.
