Depends on your partition scheme. If you used only one big / partition, probably not, but if you used a separate /home partition, you could save this one.
Why do you need to re-install?

You did not give enough information to get good advice. Provide output of "df -h" and "fdisk -l" as a start. One could always use an additional disk, if that is an option.
