All,
We have a PostgreSQL 8.1.4 in the testing repository. Would everyone who has used it / is using it please reply to this thread. We want to move this to CentOSPlus (this version has been in has been in testing since May, and a version 8 has been in testing since Dec of last year).
The repo file is here for testing: http://dev.centos.org/centos/4/CentOS-Testing.repo
Thanks, Johnny Hughes

Yep, I've been using it on a couple of development/test boxes for some months, and it's been rock solid here.
Cheers, Gavin

I've installed and used it successfully on a number of systems with no problems.
Will.

Interesting. I always use the PGDG RPMS (8.1.4 and 8.1.5 at the moment). For those I have to rebuild things like perl-DBD-Pg. What's the difference between PGDG and Testing? How about php-pgsql deps?

The packages currently in the testing repository are rebuilt from upstream, and are designed to be used in conjunction with the compat-libs packages in the testing repo also. This allows for the use of pgsql-8, without rebuilding packages in the base/updates such as php. Mostly it's designed to be a drop-in replacement.

We are happy to see this progress, as we have been waiting for 8.1.x to show up.
Kudos!
