Are other logs being written .. /var/log/messages /var/log/secure ... etc? Is syslog running? _______________________________________________ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos

Is Sendmail itself running? What does
# service sendmail status
or
# ps auxww | grep mail
... return?
(BTW, this is a tiny bit OT for a CentOS list.)
Will.
The log file that you were watching probably got rotated. Restart the command.

Use -F which updates file handles.

I am ruunig a Mailserver (Sendmail) on RedhHat 9,
I suggest you plan a migration to Centos 4.4 as Redhat 9 is ancient, its version of sendmail (have you at all updated that box?) is full of security holes and even if your sendmail has been patched against its security holes, the other stuff that comes with Redhat 9 is riddled with security holes.
