dear sir; i am using centos 3.1 on a test server . i install oracle 10g and it works fine . but after installing a patch for oracle i have the following error :
error while loading shared library /etc/libwait.so can't open shared file
and after rebooting i have the same error plus " kernel panic " so is there any thing that i can do to get my system working ? and from where can i get the aproperate oracle patchs for centos ? thanks in advance . khaled
Official Oracle patches can be obtained (if you have an account) from metalink.oracle.com and are not a function of the OS, but are a function of oracle.
You would install any patches that are applicable for RHEL 3.
What was the name of the patch that you installed and where did you get it? I'll take a look and see if I can reproduce, then fix the problem.
