Where might I enter a complaint about the new tabs showing a tile of recent web sites visited. I don't like that. I would like to change that setting but I don't see anything in the preferences to adjust.

Click on the little grey checkerboard in the top right corner of the screen. That turns it on and off.

I'd suggest a mozilla firefox related list or forum.
