Being new at distro SOPs, I don't know if this is an unusual thought.
With a kernel debug package (or any such debug package) would it be prudent in todays world to have a checksum or signature process to assure the downloaded file is untampered with and complete?
What prompts this is I just downloaded the kernel packages that Johnny put up. I had not realized they were so large and thought "TG I'm not on dial-up anymore".
Anyway, thought I would raise the question.

Ran the "rpm --checksig" and it says all is ok. I presume that is sufficient. Should have ran that before posting just because I didn't see any external sum files.

As you saw in my other post, youthful enthusiasm overruled mature patient processing.
<*ahem* ..st-st-stammer *red-face*> Twice. Just discovered that when I checked the i586 version it was OK, but the i686 version files.
I'll post a different thread with that failure so that Johnny can see it more easily.
Thanks for the come-back,
