So I did a fresh install today. Decided to go ahead and upgrade. Everything seems okay save for three problems.
#1 - I get a message during boot saying that an Intel microcode update didn't work. Something about not being able to find /proc/microcode.
#2 - I can't use the Firefox extension HTML Parser. Anyone use this.
#3 - Off and on GDM crashes and I get dropped into a prompt.
Any ideas?

What's your CPU? If it's not Intel, it's probably irrelevant.
If it is Intel IA32, you might be missing something.... I don't know what microcode updates there are, bit I figure if it works it works.

Logs?

Are you using CentOS 5.0 x86 or x86_64?

I am also running CentOS 5.0 x86 and I am not getting such message.

Myself can't install en-uk dictionary for thunderbird in my user account.
#3 - Off and on GDM crashes and I get dropped into a prompt.
I am not getting this behaviour either.

I don't either when I run the non-xen kernel. I started running that kernel to try to get VMWare installed (I have a P4 and need VMWare to run virtual Windows, can't do the hardware Xen) and the error went away. Do you run the standard kernel?

Yeah. I tried installing the compat libs, which is what the web site for that extension says may be necessary, but it still doesn't work. :(

I was. But as soon as I switched to the non-Xen kernel it stopped. Odd.
