It does. Red Hat won't patch RHEL 5 so it is likely there will be no patch from CentOS for CentOS 5 either.

RHEL 5 is in Production 3 status, in which only Critical security problems (and Urgent bugs) will be fixed. This problem is Important, not Critical.
The subscription that you're paying for can be used for a newer release, as well.
