I am trying to update a newly installed server and this is what i get when i yum update: Gathering header information file(s) from server(s) Server: CentOS-3.3 - Addons retrygrab() failed for:
http://mirror.centos.org/centos-3/3.3/addons/i386/headers/header.info Executing failover method failover: out of servers to try Error getting file http://mirror.centos.org/centos-3/3.3/addons/i386/headers/header.info [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error >
I went as far as to redownload and reburn the cd1(which is al i use for setups). Any ideas?

You should be able to open the above header.info file in your browser from that machine ... can you?
It seems your network card is not working or you can't resolve the name mirror.centos.org. I just checked and that is the correct path and file name for update.

Also, wget or links could be tried if running on a text install.

Or your firewall is blocking http access, default gateway isn't set, there are a number of possibilities.

There was an issue yesterday with the header.nfo file. I know, because when I ran an rsync in the middle of the day, I could no longer use my local yum repo. I had to re-rsync about 30 minutes later, and then I was able to install what I needed to.
