While we're waiting on the keebler elves to make the new CentOS 4, what feature(s) are you most lusting after in RHEL/CentOS 4?
For me:
- official Mysql 4!!! (man does this make me happy) - official Subversion
..are my top two, they will make me a happy camper for so many projects. :) Sure sure the 2.6 kernel is nice, but that super-patched 2.4 kernel on v3 seems to work quite well too...

I know, I know, I have a huge backlog. But am focussing on allowing people to help out. If you have to choose between the two, what would you do ? :)

I don't know where should I volunteer but if you can wait a week I will be able to start packaging bacula. If you need help. My questions: - where are the development policy papers - what is the requirement to become a developer
I know the Debian project most, one of my collegues is Debian developer and I followed their guidlines to build my own deb packages. I assume there should be a policy but I didn't find it.
bye, Ago

I'm confused, are you referring to things you want to see but that aren't there? I have rpms for mysql and its deps using mysql4 if you want, but its not part of v4:
/home/rsweet# rpm -qa | grep -i mysql mysql-devel-3.23.58-13 qt-MySQL-3.3.3-8 libdbi-dbd-mysql-0.6.5-9 mysql-3.23.58-13 mod_auth_mysql-20030510-5 php-mysql-4.3.9-3 mysql-bench-3.23.58-13 MySQL-python-0.9.2-4 gda-mysql-1.0.4-3 freeradius-mysql-1.0.1-1 perl-DBD-MySQL-2.9003-5 mysql-server-3.23.58-13

I'm logged into RHN right now, and mysql4 is included (and not in the "extras" channel). That's nice!
For example:
mysql-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1 mysql-server-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1

You must be running an old beta, check your install. The MySQL RPM in the release SRPM tree is 4.1.7:
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/4/en/os/i386/SRPMS/
Notice there's a compatibility SRPM for the 3.x stuff to use as well.

Indeed I have the b1 running. This is good. My creaking and groaning old PIII that I've dedicated to rebuilding things will have one less mess of things to do!
thanks, -ryan
