I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to log in on the KDE forums on the KDE web site. Unfortunately, despite having registered, my account is not "activated", and I can't post threads. I am also not able to email the forum administrator, as one ironically has to be an activated member to do so. I've also noticed that trying to search their forums results in a MySQL error.
So does anyone have a recommendation for a different group or community on line where KDE questions would be welcome?

I think you can post some of the questions on this mailing list too. Moreover, if you prefer, you can always join the KDE Mailing list.

I've noticed my KDE questions here don't really spark the imagination and inspire much replies. Which is fair enough, as it's not a KDE focused list. I've tried subscribing to the KDE mailing list. We'll see if that's helpful.

---- bear in mind that the default on RHEL/CentOS/Fedora is to use GNOME and thus a much smaller subset use KDE.

That is true. Craig, you are right.
My bad, I can't use Gnome. I simply love to tweak, upgrade, install and do stuff on KDE!

Is Gnome really that much more popular than KDE? Actually, the only reason I decided to go with KDE was because I liked Amarok, the music player that seems to be tied to KDE.
I thought the two were basically equal in terms of functionality and user base, just with different styles and approaches.

Gnome is more of a Business Oriented Desktop Environment, with being lighter on the computer.
KDE is more geared towards ease of use, and provides more applications.
Simply search the Internet with your favorite Search Engine, and you will find a lot of results. Search with
"KDE and GNOME comparison."

After two days of signing up, I got the activation finally.
Now, I can post on the Forums easily.
I hope you got yours too, Dave. :)

Well, I think KDE-Forum.org is having a problem in their Forum Software itself. Yesterday, I tried subscribing to their Forum, but I never got a confirmation Email.
The same has been the problem with you. Well, I guess we should catch up with some already registered user, and tell them to look at the bug.
What do you say?
But the KDE-Mailing List will actually do that job. But that would "flood" my Email account. ;-) I would like to be on the Forum instead.
