Hi all,
Just found out that the Poweredge R300 cant even load the CentOS 5.2 64bit installer. Had to revert to Ubuntu. Seems its a driver problem.
Pity, but does this kind of case apply to many other servers?

Thats really odd that you could not "load" it on the server I have a few of those running centos 5.2 here and they installed without any problems.

Kai,
I meant that it could not complete the 64bit installation.

What debugging steps did you try? The R300 is a pretty new box (newer than 5.2 ) and so may need updated APIC and equivalent items. Sometimes this can be worked around with various boot flags and sometimes this requires a newer kernel issue. If you are interested in pursueing this, I would look at booting the 5.3 ISO.

Have you tried 5.3?
