I had to make a minimal install and now Im installing some packages I need. I decided to use xfce as desktop, but after install, I cant find a way to set is as preferred desktop environment. I try switchdesk xfce, but it says xfce is not installed. How can I set it?

switchdesk xfce
That works for me ... how did you install XFCE ... did you use the install in the extras directory from the centos tree.

I used yum install xfdesktop, as I didnt found any matching xfce package when used yum search xfce or xfce4.

Doesn't give you everything you need. do 'yum groupinstall XFCE-4.2' instead. then you'll be able to use switchdesk.
